Student Opportunity for Advanced Reading (SOAR) provides children the opportunity to work one-on-one with an adult who is attentive, engages them, shares conversations, peaks their interests, encourages their thoughts, and answers their questions. Title I Schools design the overall Title I School Improvement Plan to address the individual needs and learning levels of all students in the entire school.

We track student data and correlate it to the school's plan to determine success and program effectiveness. Mentors assist with remediating strategic students in second and third grade.

All of the children at Lyon Elementary School in second and third grade, who score strategic on DIBELS, qualify for this research-based, prescriptive intervention.
